“Podemos”, el poder de una palabra mas allá del futbol
Dentro de unos dias cumpliré 38 años. Cuando tenia catorce, en el 1984 a Arconada, un ídolo para millones de niños en España, se le escurría un balón envenenado entre las manos. Lo que para aquella generación de niños supuso aquel hecho fue mas importante de lo que parece a simple vista.
En aquellos años España no era una potencia deportiva. Mas bien no era potencia en nada. Tan solo comenzaba a notarse el efecto de la democracia como ejemplo a seguir a nivel mundial, pero eso a un niño poco le importa.. En cambio conseguir un puesto notable en atletismo, o alguna medalla en cualquier deporte nos llenaba de orgullo patrio. Y hacia soñar a un país que comenzaba a sentirse importante despues de casi 50 años de ocaso mundial. Asi que en el deporte rey, conseguir llegar a una final de la Eurocopa, era algo que tenía en vilo un páis, y sobre todo a los niños tan influenciables y sensibles ante los acontecimientos especiales. En aquellos años, llegar a una semifinal era mucho mas “importante” que en estos tiempos donde estamos acostumbrados a que los españoles se lleven el medallero y el podium en infinidad de representaciones deportivas.
Por eso, y por mi generación, pienso en los niños de hoy. Los niños, avidos de recuerdos con los que llenar su cabeza, de simbolos, de imagenes y de las maravillas de la vida. Han comprobado que una palabra: “podemos”, puede unir mas que un himno, donde un color une mas que una bandera, y donde hay sitio para todo aquel que luche con fé y confíe. Confie en sus posibilidades. Y no exclusivamente en la mala suerte. Sin excusas. Asi que la generación que ahora ha grabado a fuego en su memoria estos momentos, y estas palabras, les servirá para “darse cuenta” y confiar en que el poder de la palabra es suficiente para conseguir todo aquello que se consiga en la vida. La mediocridad y la autocomplacencia saboreando y regodeandose en la mala suerte ya no es excusa para justificar un fracaso.
Pienso en esos niños que conseguirán todo aquello que se propongan, que no tendrán en el subcosciente la sensación de vivir en un paÃís azuzado por la mala suerte, mediocre, marcado por la desgracia y por ser la eterna aspiración a algo.. Esos niños están ahora “programados” para hacer de este país algo mejor, mas bonito, mas justo, mas solidario, mas generoso, con mas esperanza y lo mas importante saber que lo conseguirán, aunque en el camino haya muchos que se opondrán a que esto sea asÃ. AsÃí que solo espero que sus padres, nuestra generación de la tristeza y de las eternas decepciones.. consigan hacerles creer que “pueden”. Podeis.
Ese es el poder del deporte, del futbol en su maximo prepresentante. Una cancha donde los paises dirimen sus diferencias, inexistentes y creadas artificalmente. Un terreno neutral donde combaten los corazones del orgullo patriotrico,.. y donde en lugar de morir o matar, se golpea un trozo de cuero bien formado, y se acatan los resultados.. un deporte que por mucho que se pueda denostar y maldecir cada dia, ha llevado a que la humanidad tan asidua a luchar constantemente por absurdas contiendas geográficas o racistas.. consigan dirimir esas diferencias en una lucha pacifica.
Y tambien desde aquà mi homenaje a Arconada, del que los chicos de la selección (Palov) le han recordado vistiendo la camiseta que llevaba en aquel partido memorable. Ahora recuerdo a Grecia, hace 4 años, casi cuando comence a ezscribir algo en este misero blog
