Feliz Navidad a un musulman..
y de paso a todos los hombres de buena voluntad.
Recientemente hice un viaje a Marruecos coincidiendo con el Ramadan musulman. Allà conocà un poco mejor su cultura, su afabilidad, sus creencias y su forma de sociedad. Conocà a Mohamed Bouroukba, un capital de marina jubilado que habÃa viajado por medio mundo y trabajado muchos años en una compañia naviera española, y me explico en verdadero sentido del Ramadan, asi como otras cosas del mundo musulman. Dificilmente puedo trasmitir lo que me explico en unas lineas.. pero si publicar la carta de Navidad que le he escrito, por si le sirve a alguien a la hora de ver esta Navidad de una manera distinta y acompañarme en mi manifiesto.

Como sabes la Navidad se acerca a nuestra cultura.. una Navidad cada vez mas denostada, mas consumidora, y mas corrupta.. a mi personalmente me parece una epoca horrible. La Navidad se ha convertido en un acontecimiento social en la que la mayor parte de las personas de nuestra cultura occidental hemos olvidado el verdadero sentido de estas fiestas y celebraciones.. La solidaridad, y el amor ha dejado su lugar al consumo, a los excesos y al despilfarro. Nuestras calles se llenan de luces de colores gastando electricidad de una manera indecente, olvidandonos que las luces que mas deben de brillar son las de nuestro interior; las calles se llenan de mafias que piden limosnas aprovechando el sentimiento de caridad que obligadamente reina en Navidad, y caemos en sus redes sin darnos cuenta que existen millones de personas pasando hambre y pobreza el resto del año en otras partes de nuestro pequeño mundo. Dañamos a nuestros cuerpos y a nuestras mentes con los excesos, con las comidas de empresa, de amigos, de familia, los excesos y vicios son continuados.. y en muchos casos se han convertido en una obligación social. Creo que esto no es la Navidad cristiana, mas bien se parece a lo que podrÃa ser una Navidad pagana.
En cualquier caso.. te escribo, querido Mohamed, pues me he acordado de lo que me explicastes, del sentido espiritual que vosotros dáis al Ramadan. Al menos los musulmanes como tú, que respetáis y entendéis el sentido del Ramadan, y no aquellos que esperan a la llamada del “Allah Akbar” para ponerse a cometer excesos como locos… Recuerdo tus explicaciones sobre el Ramadan, como una epoca para reflexionar, de solidaridad, para compartir la austeridad y escasez de alimentos con aquellos que habitualmente no tienen acceso a ellos, y una epoca de depuracion del cuerpo. He decidido que este año voy a tomarme la Navidad como vuestro Ramadan. Esa va a ser mi Navidad de este año. Una Navidad austera, una navidad para compartir y disfrutar de mi gente, una Navidad para respirar y meditar en la naturaleza, una Navidad para cuidar mi cuerpo, una Navidad para desear lo mejor para todos.. y una Navidad en definitiva a lo musulman.. o quizás a lo cristiano.. que al fin y al cabo es lo mismo ¿verdad?

Hoy mismo : el 2 de Marzo 2009 acabo de leer tu carta “Dios Mio” donde me envia estas palabras que me llenan de un inmenso cariño de amistad.
